2018 Meeting Times and Dates:
The Pegasus Residents' Group Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month in the Pegasus Community Centre, Pegasus Main St, Start time is 7.00 pm. The AGM is Tuesday 21 May 2019.
While the public are welcome to attend the committee meetings, they do not have automatic speaking rights. Anyone wishing to place an item on the agenda should contact the Secretary at least 1 week prior to the meeting.
Pegasus Residents Group Inc. seeks to promote, preserve and protect the interests of the residents of Pegasus Town. We aim to support the efforts of any person, persons, association, or any other bodies, who may in the opinion of PRGI be working for the benefit of the Pegasus area and to foster social activities within PRGI’s area.
The Pegasus Residents' Group was first set up in mid-2011 and became an incorporated society in September 2013. The group has a committee and a constitution. The membership fee of $10.00 per year (or part year) per household goes towards costs of administration, printing, running events etc.
Some achievements since we were formed include:
Set up of volunteer community watch patrol (click here for more info). This is still running today.
Hosted public information sessions with:
The Waimakariri District Council
Todd Property Pegasus Town Ltd.
Pegasus Bay School
Te Kohaka o Tuhaitara Trust (Tuhaitara Coastal Park)
Established and maintained good relationships with WDC and TPPTL.
Organise the very successful Christmas on the lake community event
The committee has a member on the Woodend-Sefton Community Board, further opening lines of communication with WDC.
Assisted with getting street postal delivery started in Pegasus
Hosted information evening with NZ Post and Roger Hornblow (Pegasus Bay School)
Lobbied NZTA for safety improvements to Pegasus entrance way.

Secretary: Handle correspondence, carry out the administration of PRGI’s affairs; keep a register of members and other records; prepare for and attend meetings of the committee and of PRGI; write up the minutes of all meetings, and observe the requirements of the act. The secretary shall also be responsible for the summoning of all committee meetings. The secretary has ultimate responsibility for any PRGI email account, website, Facebook page or other social media in the name of the PRGI. Aspects of this role may be delegated.
Treasurer: Receive and account for all monies due to PRGI; pay all accounts owing by PRGI; prepare PRGI’s annual accounts; report on PRGI’s financial position to the committee at regular intervals; observe the requirements of section 23 of the act, and ensure that all monies received by PRGI are receipted and banked.
Chairperson: Preside at meetings in a proper and dignified manner; ensure that the meeting is properly convened and that a quorum is present in accordance with PRGI’s rules; conduct meetings properly in accordance with PRGIs rules; ensure that the sense of the meeting is properly ascertained with regard to any question under consideration; preserve order, and see that a proper procedure is followed, particularly regarding the rules of debate; give all persons present and entitled to speak and vote a reasonable opportunity to do so; declare the meeting closed at the termination of business, and vouch for the correctness of the minutes by signing them.
Committee: Manage PRGI; make bylaws and regulations for the conduct of the PRGI; open and operate bank accounts as required; raise funds; borrow money; elect new members; ensure the keeping of minutes of all meetings of the committee, sub committees and members; ensure that proper books of accounts are kept, and delegate certain of its powers to sub committees.
Other key roles on the committee are the Vice Chairperson, Minutes Secretary, Membership Coordinator and Funding/Sponsorship Coordinators.
