Enchanted Pegasus Fairy Forest Now Open

Updated: 2 days ago

It’s official! Our Pegasus Fairy Forest is thriving thanks to little creators and their families who came to our Fairy Forest Workshop in conjunction with the Waimakariri District Council on Sunday 3rd March at the Pegasus Community Centre. Thank you for joining us - we loved hosting you and hope you had fun! All your creations look beautiful in our new Fairy Forest.

Head down to the forest and take a look (see map and photos below). We want the fairy forest to grow organically and we have loads more space to fill in, especially nearer the beach end.

We have empty battens on trees (see green circle highlighted in photo) for fairy houses so please make and secure your own creations there. Tip: just make sure your screw is long enough to go through the fairy house to attach to the batten. Other items can be secured directly to the tree.

THANK YOU!

We want to recognise and thank all of our fairy and forest helpers for their work in the lead-up and on the day - we absolutely could not have done it without you all Heidi, Marina, Steve A. Ingrid and Hec, Matt, Katy, Aria, and Raylene. Thank you again to Marina who brought along so much of her own paints and craft items from home - so kind.

Our amazing fairy forest helpers from the AdviceKiwi Menzshed Pegasus Woodend Steve B, Derick and Mike made sure that all the beautiful creations were secured to the trees. Thank you to you all. Plus special thanks to Steve B for making such a lovely fairy sign for our forest.

Thank you to the Waimakariri District Council community team and especially Niamh Donnellan for initiating this project. Did you know that FOUR fairy forests were created across the district in ONE day thanks to the Council team?

Thanks also to Niamh's helpers who made all the wooden fairy houses and doors and other wonderful items for the children to paint. Thank you for the paints and decorations too for the children to use.

We had so many people at the workshop - all we had left was one little pinecone!!
